Microsoft is reportedly working on a new streaming device that’ll let people access movie and TV services as well as games through according to a VentureBeat report on Friday.. The device, which will connect to TVs and may be shaped like a small stick or puck, is expected to be released in the next 12 months,
Microsoft is also reportedly working closely with Samsung to develop and Xbox game-streaming app for the tech giant’s TVs. That’s expected to be released in a similar time frame, according to VentureBeat.
Xbox didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
Microsoft has been expanding the ways people can stream games beyond its own Xbox consoles. Last week, the company struck a deal with Epic Games to. The move lets people play Fortnite on phones and other devices in a way similar to how they stream videos on services like Netflix, no need for a power console or gaming PC.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs $15 a month and offers subscribers access to hundreds of games, EA Play perks and discounts, as well as Xbox Gold — $10 a month on its own — which focuses on online multiplayer games.
